Miss Hartsville Visits the Hartsville Farmers Market

Casey News

The Miss America Organization is the nation’s leading advocate for women’s education and the largest provider of scholarship assistance to young women in the country, awarding millions of dollars each year. This past February, Catherine Wong was crowned Miss Hartsville 2017 where she was given a $500 academic scholarship and the opportunity to represent Hartsville at the 81st Annual Miss South Carolina Pageant. Miss America contestants contribute thousands of hours of community service annually and have raised over $15 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals since 2007. CMN Hospitals are the official philanthropy of the Miss America Organization and contestants spend countless hours during their reign volunteering and raising money for this charity. So far this year, Catherine has raised $262.00 and is ambitious to raise even more!

The greatest part of being Miss Hartsville is spending time with the Hartsville community and raising awareness about her Miss America Platform: Bridging the Education Gap Within SC Public Schools. Catherine believes being Miss Hartsville, Miss South Carolina, or Miss America are more than just a title. This organization is a movement of empowering young women all over the state and country to achieve their dreams, make the world a better place, and do good by providing quality scholarship assistance and honoring their commitment to helping others.

Please join Miss Hartsville 2017 one last time before she leaves for the Miss South Carolina Competition, at the Hartsville Famers Market this Saturday from 9AM to 1PM as she raises money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals! She will be signing autographs, taking pictures, and collecting donations all day. Can’t come but still want to donate? Here’s your solution!
