Main Street Hartsville Presents Treats on the Streets

Hartsville, SC — Main Street Hartsville will host their annual Treats on the Streets event on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Downtown Hartsville will be taken over by mummies, bats, princesses, pirates, ghosts and superheroes walking our streets and finding treats at our downtown shops, restaurants, and businesses. Each year, so many children and families enjoy this safe downtown event at no charge. The 2017 event had several thousand people walking the streets as they went door to door trick-or-treating at businesses along East Carolina Avenue, West Carolina Avenue, 5th Street and East College Avenue.

The Hartsville Police Department will be closing roads to vehicular traffic from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Fifth Street will be closed from Cargill Way to College Avenue and Carolina Avenue will be closed from Fourth Street to Sixth Street.

We will also have a Hocus Pocus Costume Contest and Strut Your Mutt Dog Costume Contest in Centennial Park sponsored by SPC Credit Union. Check out the event page on Facebook for more details!

We are also hosting our Second Annual Downtown Scarecrow Contest to accompany our Treats on the Streets event. Individuals, businesses and groups alike are welcome to join the contest. Participation is FREE, but we are also offering wooden scarecrow frames for $20 to help get you going. Build a Scarecrow however you would like: barrels of hay, stick stand, or create your own. We have flag pole holes along our downtown sidewalks that are 1-inch in diameter. They will be available to use for scarecrow stands.

The scarecrows must be turned into The Key to your Hartsville by Monday, October 22nd at 11:00 a.m., to be considered eligible for the contest prizes. There will be first, second, and third place prizes that will be awarded during Treats on the Streets.
