Solar Eclipse 2017

Hartsville’s view of the solar eclipse on August 21, 2017, will peak with 99.1% totality at 2:44pm. Several organizations are hosting viewing events in town. Make sure to wear safety glasses!
Hartsville Memorial Library Event
Fun & Information for all ages! Join us at the Hartsville Memorial Library for a Story Time OR a Program about eclipses by Dr. Clyde Smith, SC GSSM Physics Professor. Viewing tent will be in parking lot. A limited number of safety glasses will be given away.
Coker College Event
Coker College will host a Solar Eclipse Celebration on Monday, August 21, 2017 from 2pm-3pm on Davidson Lawn. While Hartsville, SC is not in the path of totality, faculty, staff, and students can still celebrate and experience the partial solar eclipse with “eclipse glasses”. Please check your Coker email as more details will be released as the event nears.
