Batik Watercolor Workshop
November 6, 2015 @ 10:00 am
The term “Batik” comes from the method used by the Malayans for printing designs on cloth. Wax is used to block off areas and the material is dipped in dye, the waxed area resists the dye. The wax cracks in places and dye penetrates the cloth making veins.
For this class the Batik process will be done on the rice paper. Watercolor will be used in the place of dye. Patterns of palm trees, cotton bolls, sunflowers, koi fish and angels will be available for partcipants to use as references. They may also bring their own image if preferred.
All material are included in cost. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
Friday 10-4, Saturday 10-12
